The history of the company dates back to 1899 where a partnership was formed between Messrs Manger and O’Neil to form MON Natural Foods. In its infancy MON Natural Foods produced aerated waters and cordials. Over the years MON moved into the manufacture of canned fruits and tomatoes using produce that were grown in the region.
The Goulburn Valley Region became the leading tomato growing area in Victoria. By the advent of World War 2, MON had become famous for its tomato sauces, tomato soup and peeled tomatoes, particularly with our armed forces.
MON’s continued growth since the War has been due to the demand for our range of quality products. The MON brand is well recognised throughout Victoria and Southern NSW, our manufacturing facility in Barooga, NSW supports local employment and local agriculture by producing MON branded products and packing Own Label products.
