ElementGold Plus⁺ Unsweetened Berry is a tasty, nutritionally complete elemental shake, with added protein. It is formulated from the highest quality ingredients for rapid absorption and minimal triggering of sensitive digestive systems.

How is it different to the other flavours?

All flavours of ElementGold Plus⁺ share the same base nutrition. The different flavours vary in terms of protein, added sweetener and the flavourings.

Whey Protein Isolate

Our bodies need more protein than we can provide using only free-form amino acids, notably for muscle maintenance, so ElementGold Plus⁺ Berry has added protein that was isolated from the liquid part of milk (whey), which is why the bottle must be labelled with 'Contains Milk'. The Ion-Exchange process used to isolate the protein results in a very high protein purity (97.7±0.7%) which also has a smooth texture and neutral taste. This contains no casein and a 325 mL serve of ElementGold Plus⁺ Berry contains only 0.07 g of lactose (the same as in only 1.1 millilitres of regular cows milk), which is low enough to make it suitable for most people with lactose intolerance. However, if you need to avoid the particular proteins or trace amounts of impurities found in milk whey, consider ElementGold Plus⁺ Vegan Unsweetened Caramel which adds protein extracted from rice.

Unsweetened

Some gastrointestinal conditions mean avoiding sugars is ideal. ElementGold Plus⁺ Unsweetened Berry has no added sweetener to allow something suitable to be added. Most people will want to add a suitable sweetener, such as stevia, for taste reasons. If you are not sure about what sweeteners are suitable for your situation, check with a relevant healthcare professional.

A Serve of ElementGold Plus⁺

A standard serve of ElementGold Plus⁺ Unsweetened Berry is made by mixing, shaking or blending (on low speed) 100 g of powder with 250 mL of cold water. Fats are omitted for tolerance reasons but your healthcare professional may ask you to add a fat source, such as flax seed oil.

Adding milk, fruit, honey or others foods to ElementGold may enhance the taste but it will no longer be considered an elemental food. Consume each shake immediately or cover and refridgerate, discarding unused portions after 4 hours.

How Many Serves?

A standard serve of ElementGold Plus⁺ Unsweetened Berry provides 1,600 KJ (384 kcal) of balanced nutrition. Adding 15 mL of flax seed oil brings a serve up to 2,140 KJ.

The amount of serves required is based on energy of the food ElementGold Plus+ is replacing. As an example, replacing 6,000 KJ of regular food would require 4 standard serves (6,400 KJ).

Note that as with all food on some days you may be more hungry than others and require more or less serves.
